Hello

For me, art is the perfect way to let my emotions out without explaining everything. It's an opportunity to express myself like words never could. As an artist, I want to push the boundaries and challenge the viewer's perspective. Art allows us to make assumptions and guesses about what the artist is feeling, which is a cool and unique experience. I especially enjoy the messy process of creating something beautiful out of simple materials.

About me

My name is Nora Bertrand, I am from a small rural town in Northeast Nebraska. My passion for art started at a young age, and I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. Despite my school not offering formal art classes, I found many outlets for my creativity. I participated in various classes such as band, choir, speech, one-act, and fashion construction. I was selected to participate in the Kent Bellows Mentorship Program through the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, where I made 4 hours round trip two times a week to work with professional artists in a studio setting. I have also had three of my designs selected for Omaha Fashion Week. Singing is another outlet for my creativity, and I have been chosen for several honor choirs and given solos in our State FFA chorus. I love musical theater and love to sing while creating art.

My art is an extension of myself, and I draw inspiration from pop culture and items in my life. I enjoy experimenting with various mediums and techniques, but I particularly like using found objects in my artwork. I want my art to evoke emotion and spark conversation. I believe that art has the power to bring people together and inspire change. Through my art, I want to positively impact the world and encourage others to pursue their passions.
